Previously named the Terra Centre, the Ho-Chunk Centre was constructed in 1983 by Terra Industries, a national manufacturing firm within the agribusiness industry. The corporation was headquartered in the building until its buyout by CF Industries. In 2012, the Terra Centre was purchased by Ho-Chunk, Inc. and other local investors. The building was later renamed the Ho-Chunk Centre to reflect Ho-Chunk, Inc.'s commitment to the success of the iconic building.
The investment group has exciting plans for several building renovations in 2014. The first project is the renovation of the building atrium. A new café, named the SweetWater Cafe, is now open on the skywalk level. Additional building renovations will be made within the next 12-18 months.
